Parrish Uncontested Among Republicans in the Race to Replace Retiring Sen. Chuck Colgan in the 29th District

Manassas, Virginia — Manassas Mayor Hal Parrish has officially won the Republican nomination for the Virginia State Senate in the 29th District. After announcing his campaign to replace retiring Sen. Chuck Colgan, Parrish was uncontested among Republicans, earning the early endorsement and support of Republican elected officials and leaders across the district.

Party leaders said Parrish has received overwhelming support at the grassroots, demonstrating the strength of his candidacy and ability to rally a strong coalition of support around his campaign.

“Hal’s record of service and leadership to the citizens of Manassas is impressive, and a reason he remained uncontested among Republicans. His passion for his community, understanding of the issues, and ability to bring together every coalition of our party in support of his campaign show that he is remarkably qualified to represent the citizens of the 29th District in Richmond,” said Prince William County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Card.

“Hal’s record of results shows that he works for us,” said Manassas Republican Committee Chairman Sharon Ashurst. “Hal’s a proven tax cutter, job creator, and citizen legislator who’s proven that he will hold government accountable to us.” “As Mayor, Hal’s made Manassas a partner in Prince William County’s economic growth and a jobs magnet for Northern Virginia. He will bring the same accountability and results-driven approach he’s taken in Manassas to Richmond.”

“Hal Parrish displays the kind of leadership we need in Richmond,” said 29th Senate Legislative District Committee Chairman Steve Danziger. “I am proud to call him our Republican nominee and look forward to working with him and his campaign to victory in November.”
