The Prince William Public Library System (PWPLS) offers a number of programs throughout the year for all ages. We’re highlighting some of those programs and events below; please visit our website to learn more.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

Saturday, Feb. 16 – Holiday weekend – all neighborhood libraries closed
Monday, Feb. 18 – Presidents’ Day holiday – all libraries closed

PROGRAMS

This program uses dazzling reenactments and the expertise of military historians to tell the multifaceted story of the Buffalo Soldiers, a name given to black troops by their Native American adversaries.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Bull Run and Montclair are playing matchmaker! Between Feb. 1-14, select your “date” from a display of wrapped books at either library, check it out, take it home, and unwrap it.

Prospective employers from Prince William County Parks and Rec, Splashdown Waterpark, and more local organizations will share job opportunities available to teens for Summer 2019. Come and practice interview techniques one on one! For teens ages 14 – 18.

Take an imaginary journey to share in the movements, sounds, and instruments of different West African traditions with a master Wolf Trap artist and teacher. All ages.
Find information on local resources or opportunities to give back to our community by meeting area nonprofit organizations all in one place. Multiple dates and locations.
Expand your knowledge of African American culture by examining art in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ collection with special guest Karen Getty, Docent and Tour Services Coordinator at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Celebrate Black History Month by making torn paper artwork inspired by the Expressionist artist, Alma Woodsey Thomas. Join us beforehand (at 2:00 p. m.) for a read-in by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. All ages.
Come to a Valentine’s Day story time to listen to stories and make a craft. No registration required. All ages.
Join us in celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week (a little early) with a not-so-random act of kindness! We are making heart-shaped no-sew fleece pillows so easy that even the smallest hands can help. Then, we will donate your heart pillows to those in need. No registration required.
Test your palette on many different flavors of Oreo cookies and vote for your favorite. We will also have some unusual flavors of Kool-Aid to wash them down! All ages.
Community Educators will discuss healthy vs. unhealthy relationships for teen dating and will explain Domestic Violence Services and Sexual Assault Services available to victims.
