Several schools in PWCS had events to celebrate military children in our School Division. From wearing purple on “PurpleUp!” Day to hosting a parade or a special assembly, our schools recognized the service of military kids and the sacrifices that come with having military family members.
April is designated “Month of the Military Child” to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. More than two million people in the United States serve in the nation’s military and many have families and children who are also impacted through their service.
“Purple Up!” is a way for everyone to show their support for military youth. Why purple? It is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, combining Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.
