County historic sites are currently transitioning to winter hours until May. Throughout the winter, Ben Lomond Historic Site, Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre, Rippon Lodge Historic Site and Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park are open for special programs and tours by request. Grounds are open from dawn until dusk, with appropriate six feet social distancing. Call (703) 792-4754 to schedule your tour today.

On Mondays, Ben Lomond Historic SiteBrentsville Courthouse Historic Centre, and Rippon Lodge Historic Site will be open for tours at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tours are $5 per person, and free for students and up two accompanying adults. Tours can accommodate groups of up to seven people.

Prince William County During the Gilded Age

Saturday, Jan. 16, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Gilded Age is a lesser-known era in American history from the 1870s to the turn of the 20th century. It was marked by industrialization and rapid economic and population growth. Join Historic Interpreter Warwick Steer to learn more about this brushed-over period of history and what was happening in Prince William County. Ben Lomond, Buffalo, and the Assassination Of A President

Thursday, Jan. 28, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. In American history, four sitting presidents have been killed in office. One of the key players in the 1901 assassination of President William McKinley has close personal connections to Ben Lomond.
