PWCS Alumnus Receives Mellon Professorship

Ibram X. Kendi has received the Andrew W. Mellon Professorship in the Humanities from Boston University. Kendi, a 2000 graduate of Unity Reed High School in Manassas, is the director of the University’s new Center for Antiracist Research. Kendi is a celebrated author and historian. He is being honored for his work in reframing the conversation on racism in America.

According to the “BU Today” news article, the endowed Mellon Professorship is one of BU’s highest honors, held only by one other person its history. Read the full story in “BU Today.”
