When you’re making what’s likely to be the biggest financial transaction of your life — buying a house — you want someone on your side to make sure the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed.

That someone is Ratified Title Group.

“We treat each transaction as if it were our own home we are closing on,” explained John Wood, Ratified Title’s owner and settlement officer.

Superior Customer Service

Wood compares his company’s approach to a steak dinner: “I tell people we are like Chick-fil-A when it comes to customer service, but our product is like Ruth’s Chris or Capital Grille.”

Like those upscale restaurants, Ratified Title works to offer stellar customer service. Closing on a house can be a stressful experience, so Wood strives to make sure the procedure of transferring the legal title from the seller to the buyer — the final step in the homebuying process — proceeds as smoothly as possible for all the parties involved.

Wood has honed these skills by providing settlement services for more than three decades, and his team brings more than 75 years of experience to the closing table.

“I was drawn to the business because it gave me the ability to be part of a process that helped people buy or sell a home,” Wood said. “It also allowed me to assist my agent friends to help them grow their businesses and enjoy a smooth seamless process.”

Close Where It’s Convenient

Ratified Title offers settlement services for any type of real estate transaction:

  • Residential: Experienced associates ensure that all necessary files are processed correctly.
  • Commercial: A network of attorneys verifies that all aspects of complicated transactions are addressed.
  • Refinance: Partnering with real estate agents provides a smooth closing experience for clients.

With nine employees, Ratified Title’s main office is in Manassas, and the company will soon be opening an Ashburn office. Plans also are in the works to add licenses for practicing in Maryland and D.C.

When it’s time to sign on the dotted line, Wood will bring the closing to the client, avoiding the hassles of Northern Virginia traffic.

“We travel to the property, or the agent’s office, or you can use one of our 20 satellite offices to close at,” he said.

Ratified Title e-records in all Northern Virginia counties, meaning those reams of documents are filed electronically. By using this innovative and environmentally friendly technology, the company often can disburse the same day as the closing takes place.

Partnering with Agents

Wood and his staff work closely with real estate agents, making sure both the agents and their clients receive exceptional customer service. They further cultivate those relationships by offering promotional and educational resources to help agents grow their own customer base. They focus on helping agents improve their social media exposure, and they offer promotional videos on Ratified Title’s YouTube channel.

“We understand business is about relationships, and we hold those relationships in high regard,” Wood said. “Our mission is to help our agent friends grow their business and provide expert settlement service in and around the DMV.”
