The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT Inc. and Prince William County Schools Office of Special Education are presenting a workshop called “Recipes for Disaster.” The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Location for the workshop is The Arc of Greater Prince William/Muriel Humphrey Center, Training Room 2, 13505 Hillendale Drive, Woodbridge.

The Recipes for Disaster program teaches what items to have on hand in order to feed your family in case of an extended power outage. It includes nutritious, tasty meals you can prepare without a heat source. The items demonstrated are designed to feed a family of four for three days; supplies can be adjusted according to your needs. You will have a chance to sample the meals!

The workshop is led by Bonnie Fulford and Kathy Simmons. Bonnie Fulford has more than 30 years of volunteer coordination and public outreach experience. Since 2006, she has specialized in disaster preparedness outreach with a focus on vulnerable populations. Kathy Simmons has more than 30 years experience in public safety focusing on emergency preparedness training and education. She is committed to teaching people of all ages and abilities how they can prepare for and protect themselves from many kinds of hazardous situations.
