Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will team up with Leadership Prince William and Comcast on Saturday, May 4, from 8:00 a. m. to 1:30 p. m, for the 18th Annual Comcast Cares Day.

The large-scale community service project will draw close to 300 volunteers who will gather at The Arc of Greater Prince William, 13505 Hillendale Drive, Woodbridge, and John D. Jenkins Park, 13499 Hillendale Drive, Woodbridge. The volunteers will be tasked with general clean-up of the grounds, laying mulch and planting flower beds, along with improvements to ADA accessibility in the park.

The 21.5 acre John D. Jenkins Park will receive a bright new entry sign, along with updated signage inside the park. The pavilions are slated for a fresh coat of paint and the parking lot will get new stripes. This popular neighborhood park has a fenced in basketball court, two playgrounds, two 14″ x 16″ pavilions with tables and a .13 asphalt trail.

The Rededication of John D. Jenkins Park will be held from 1:30 – 2:30 p. m., to celebrate and honor the longest-serving member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.
