Route 29 (Lee Highway) in Centreville Reduced to Two Lanes Under I-66 for Continued Bridge Demolition This Weekend, Dec. 18 to 21

Demolition of the remaining I-66 bridge span and piers will require Route 29 (Lee Highway) in Centreville to be reduced to a single lane in each direction between 9:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, and 5:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21. Two-way traffic will run on the northbound side of Route 29 starting around 9:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, through Saturday, Dec. 19.  The traffic pattern will switch around 9:00 p.m. Saturday, with two-way traffic on the southbound side of Route 29 for the remainder of the weekend.
During the overnight hours Friday through Sunday nights, Dec.  18 to 20, flaggers will alternate a single lane of traffic in each direction. Drivers using ramps to and from I-66 will not be allowed to make left turns during this time.  Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area and should consider using alternate routes.
Closures are needed for bridge demolition activities adjacent to the roadway. Demolition work will be on-going throughout the weekend during both daytime and nighttime hours as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Overnight Lane Closures and Traffic Stoppages on I-66 East and West Continue the Week of Dec. 20 for Work on New Gallows Road Bridge

Overnight lane closures on I-66 East and West approaching Gallows Road are scheduled to continue next week during overnight hours Sunday, Dec. 20, through Wednesday, Dec. 23, for overhead utility work on the new Gallows Road Bridge over I-66. Work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Additionally, Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction nightly Sunday, Dec. 20, through Wednesday, Dec/ 23. Two-way traffic will run on the southbound side of Gallows Road.
Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
