PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA . . . The fifth annual Neighborhood Conference is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Development Services Building, 5 County Complex Court, in Woodbridge. The annual event will feature topics on various community issues and is open to everyone. There is also a separate track designed specifically for homeowner and condominium associations. A registration fee of $25 includes conference materials, morning and afternoon break refreshments, and lunch.
The conference topics are relevant to many of the current challenges facing neighborhoods. This year’s opening session, “Uniting Your Community Through Emergency Preparedness”, will present information on County resources when faced with an emergency situation.
Sessions designed specifically for Home Owner and Condominium Owner Associations include: Contracting, Storm Water Retention Pond Owner Responsibilities & Maintenance and Options for Addressing Vacant/Foreclosed Properties.
Sessions designed for all communities include: How to Address Common Neighborhood Property Code Violations, Troublesome Signs & Understanding the County’s Zoning Ordinance and Generating Community Involvement: Engaging & Retaining Community Volunteers.
