The Prince William County Service Authority has opened registration for Water Academy Summer 2018.
The five-week program, which will run from June 20 through July 25, was created last summer to educate customers on all aspects of the water and wastewater utility and to help them understand the role it plays in their daily lives. The 2017 event was extremely successful with 26 customers graduating from the Water Academy.
This year’s participants will receive tours of both the H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility and the Griffith Water Treatment Plant in Lorton. They will also learn about the Service Authority’s mission and vision, daily operations, water quality and the new technology being implemented in the field to increase productivity and provide the best possible service to customers. There will be hands-on activities for participants to learn more about the watershed and the water and wastewater treatment processes.
The deadline to register for this educational opportunity is May 16. For more information or to apply, go to bit.ly/WaterAcademy2018.
