The results of the survey seeking input on the consideration of later start times for schools were shared with the PWCS School Board last night (view presentation). Results do not show support for making a substantial change to school start times in school year 2023-24. As such, no changes are planned at this time to start times for next school year or the following school year.

A majority of parents/guardians (57.2%) and staff (56.5%), and a plurality of students (42.7%) want to keep school start times the same. Based on the survey results, opposition to changing the start times is generally more intense than the support for changing them. The number of responses collected provides an accurate reflection of the viewpoints and opinions for parents/guardians, staff, and secondary students.
