Traffic detour for bridge replacement
GAINESVILLE—Drivers can expect southbound Route 29 to be closed just south of Linton Hall Road (Route 619) from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28 as crews remove and replace the bridge over North Fork Broad Run.
Message boards will detour drivers via Route 15, Heathcote Boulevard and Route 55. Police will also be on site.
While the major replacement work will take place that weekend, drivers can expect some off-peak single-lane closures over the following weeks as crews complete the project.
The $1.55 million project is scheduled to be complete in December 2013. Martins Construction Corporation is the contractor. For more details visit the VDOT project page.
