Prince William County congratulates Corliss Udoema, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Contract Solutions Inc. (CSI), on being named the 2017 Virginia Small Business Person of the Year and finalist for the National Small Business Person of the Year, by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  Ms. Udoema was one of fifty-four winners from across the U.S. and its territories, representing some 28 million small businesses.

The contest recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.  More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year, the SBA stated in a Media Advisory.

“Our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Udoema on this milestone achievement!” said Jeffrey Kaczmarek, Executive Director, Prince William County Department of Economic Development.  “National and statewide recognition is only fitting of Ms. Udoema, who is an exemplary business leader and strong advocate for the advancement of small business and philanthropic causes.”

Most recently, CSI was recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of the top thirty staffing companies in the Washington D.C Metro area and was awarded a $40 million Department of Treasury contract in 2016.

After a successful 32-year career with the federal government, Ms. Udoema founded Contract Solutions, Inc. (CSI) in 2006 and has grown CSI from a one-person company operating from her kitchen table to a multi-million-dollar business.  She is also founder and President of Agape Love in Action (ALIA), a non-profit organization which she established to assist those in need.  In addition, Udoema is a small business SCORE counselor, providing business mentoring to other entrepreneurs.
