Serve Our Willing Warriors (SOWW) celebrates its Bull Run Warrior Retreat being 100 days fully operational. The retreat fittingly became officially open on Veterans Day this past November, and a ceremony was held to mark the momentous occasion. PWL To achieve fully operational status, a three month “soft opening” was implemented, with guests providing commentary and feedback to improve their stay and provide advice to the benefit future guest experiences.
Since its inauguration last July, the retreat has hosted over 320 guests and currently has a 24 month waiting list.
SOWW Founder and President Shirley Dominick said, “This milestone is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication involving hundreds of volunteers, community support and numerous fundraisers to be able to make this place ready for military families needing respite.”
Operating as a non-profit 501 (c) (3), SOWW was founded in 2013 for the purpose of establishing a retreat for recovering service members to have a respite from the clinical hospital environment.
