Service Authority Accepting Applications for Summer Water Academy

The Prince William County Service Authority is accepting applications for its summer 2024 Water Academy educational program. This three-session educational program is designed for adults and rising high school seniors who live, work or study in Prince William County.

The Water Academy offers an immersive educational experience that includes a look at the science and technology behind water and wastewater treatment, the opportunity to learn from industry experts and a behind-the-scenes tour of the H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (Mooney AWRF). The program is filled with hands-on learning activities, presentations about water quality, water conservation, source water protection, tips for Service Authority customers and more.

The Water Academy is free, but registration is required to attend. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 17, 2024.  The full syllabus is available at pwcsa.org/water_academy.

Sessions are scheduled for 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates, with dinner available as early as 4:30 p.m.:

  • Tuesday, June 11, at Mooney AWRF, Woodbridge.
  • Tuesday, June 18, at Mooney AWRF, Woodbridge.
  • Tuesday, June 25, at the Raymond Spittle Building, Woodbridge.
