Service Authority Summer Water Academy 2023 Accepting Applications

The Prince William County Service Authority’s Water Academy is accepting applications for its 2023 summer educational program. Designed for adults and high school seniors who live, work or study in Prince William County, this engaging program offers an immersive educational experience that includes an overview of the water industry and the science and technology behind water and wastewater treatment.

The program includes a tour of the H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility, hands-on learning activities and presentations about water infrastructure, career opportunities, tips for Service Authority customers and more. The program is free, but you must apply to attend. Space is limited to 30 students.

Applications for the 2023 Water Academy are due by Wednesday, May 24. To view the full syllabus and to apply, visit pwcsa.org/water_academy.

Sessions are scheduled for 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, June 21, at the H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility in Woodbridge
  • Wednesday, June 28, at the Raymond Spittle Building in Woodbridge
  • Wednesday, July 5, at the Raymond Spittle Building in Woodbridge

The Water Academy is designed to foster an understanding of how the Service Authority contributes to community health, environmental stewardship and economic vitality. Alumni include teachers, students, engineers, scientists, homeowners’ association members, government officials and more. Teachers in Prince William County Schools are eligible to receive Continuing Education Credits for completing the course.
