Olivia Ghafoerkhan’s “Sexual Assault: the Ultimate Teen Guide” is being released on December 15. This nonfiction book contains factual and up to date information on sexual assault, including resources for teen survivors and friends of survivors, as well as stories from twenty-eight survivors of sexual assault.
Sherry A. Falsetti, Ph.D., a prominent expert in trauma and PTSD in survivors, has said that this is “…an excellent book that is accurate, accessible to her audience of preteens and teens and is well organized. It is clear that Olivia took considerable time to research the material and integrate it…I know that I will recommend this book to my daughter’s high school librarian to have as a resource and will also recommend it to my teen patients and their parents.”
Olivia Ghafoerkhan lives in Woodbridge and teaches at Northern Virginia Community College. This is her first published book. She also does presentations on sexual assault, consent, rape culture, and teen dating violence.
