Yesterday, the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia presented the 2021 Shape of the Region Conference in partnership with 12 regional organizations. The event was designed to inspire the community about ways our region is coming together to institute real change.
Some of the biggest challenges of our day – entrenched poverty, structural racism, the environment – are difficult on every level. We often default to siloed solutions with efforts that can’t scale. Our world is increasingly complex, so as a region we need to increase the complexity of our own thinking. To that end, the event highlighted inspiring stories of cross-sector collaboration – individuals and organizations working together across sectors to help build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable region.
Four very short, very different video stories of successful and recent cross sector collaborations were shared during the event. Click this link to watch them, and pause for a moment to see what these stories may inspire in YOU. Then, send your actionable ideas and reflections to ShapeOfTheRegion@cfnova.org. Input is being accepted at to this address through March 19. The Community Foundation will share the very best ideas that emerge in the coming weeks.
A recording of the entire event is also available here to share with friends, colleagues, and networks.
