Pay it Forward and Show How Much You Care
Valentine’s Day is a special occasion for expressing love and affection to your significant other, friends, and family. One way to show your love is by baking homemade cupcakes. Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of milk
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake the cupcakes for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely before decorating.
Decorating Ideas:
- Frosting: You can use any type of frosting you like, such as buttercream, cream cheese, or whipped cream. You can also color the frosting with food coloring to match the Valentine’s Day theme.
- Toppings: Sprinkle crushed candy hearts, sprinkles, or edible glitter on the frosting.
- Toppers: Cut out heart-shaped paper or fabric and attach it to a toothpick or skewer. Stick the topper into the center of the cupcake for a fun and festive touch.
- Writing: Use a food-safe marker or piping bag filled with melted chocolate to write love messages on top of the cupcakes.
