Snap Fitness in Gainesville is now a participating member of the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program. The Silver Sneakers Fitness Program is a free benefit of several Medicare health plans. The goal of the program is to provide an incentive for people 65 years of age and older to be more involved in their community in ways that are both social and promote physical fitness. Part of this plan includes unlimited gym access at participating fitness centers.
While there are several senior living communities in and near Gainesville, there are currently only two fitness centers participating in the Silver Sneakers program in Gainesville; only four total in the entire Haymarket/Gainesville/Bristow region.
“It was important for us to be part of this program,” said Snap Fitness owner Christopher Badillo. “We want to help the senior members of our community live healthier, longer lives.”
Snap Fitness gives members 24/7 access to their newly updated facility and offers weights and equipment, personal training, nutrition planning, tanning, yoga classes, and more.
Participants in the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program are encouraged to stop in during staffed hours to take a tour of the facility and get more information. Staffed hours are 7:00 a. m. – 7:00 p. m. Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a. m. – 7:00 p. m. Fridays and 7:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon Saturdays.
