If you’re anything like me, you enjoy finding small ways of doing things that achieve big results. When it comes to the outside of your home, subtle differences can go a long way. Let me share with you a few simple ideas that we have used to help people spruce up the look of their homes:
- Paint the shutters. For the cost of a gallon of paint and a little of your time, you can give your home a refreshed look by doing this simple task. We get calls all the time for just this reason, and the end result is always worth the effort put forth. Consider painting them in a semi-gloss finish for a little more “pop,” and don’t forget to use only a high-quality exterior paint for longevity.
- Change the color of the front door. The front door of your home can make a powerful statement in both color and decor. This subtle change can help you greet your guests in a way that is reflective of your personality. Blue, for example, is recognized as a peaceful color, while red is a symbol of strength and power. For a more elegant look, consider using a high-gloss finish in black. This is one
of my personal favorites, and my customers are never disappointed with this choice. - Paint your gutters. A lot of folks don’t realize how dirty their gutters really are. It’s almost “out of sight, out of mind.” When you go too long without power washing gutters regularly, the dirt and grime can virtually stain the metal. This leaves your gutters looking dingy and unkempt. Applying a fresh coat of paint to your gutters can give your home a much cleaner look, and it won’t break the bank.
I always enjoy seeing homes get these kinds of facelifts, and it makes our customers really happy too. If you want to try one of these tasks, but aren’t sure where to start, send me an email, and I’ll be happy to help give you some direction to help make your project a success.
