In May, 38 small business owners received a certificate of occupancy or written authorization to ‘Open for Business’ from Prince William County Department of Development Services. These entrepreneurs reached this milestone through the Small Business Project Management (SBPM) Program, a dedicated initiative designed to help navigate the complexities of commercial real estate and building permits.

Since program inception, 3,058 new and existing independent small business owners and entrepreneurs have received services and assistance from the SBPM.
The SBPM is dedicated to empowering independent small business owners by offering tailored support and guidance throughout the commercial real estate development and building permitting process.
To qualify for the SBPM program, customers must have 35 or fewer employees and manage their own project. The SBPM program also assists customers in determining if their business idea aligns with the authorized uses and zoning of a property location. It is important to note that national chains are not eligible for the program.
