Reverend Dr. Henry P. During, Jr., Pastor of Star Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church today announced that for the first time they have partnered with five local churches, the Town of Dumfries Police and Volunteer Fire Departments for the  Seventh Annual Community Tent Revival (Revival). This year’s theme is “Unity in the Community.”  Gerald Foreman, Mayor of the Town of Dumfries, will also participate in the event by offering remarks to the attendees.

During said that the events in our country the last few months can easily divide the community.  “The communities of faith and the leadership in the area refuse to stand by and let that happen,” he said. “We feel that our annual Tent Revival is the perfect opportunity for the entire community to come together and go to God in prayer for our families, community and nation.”

In addition to the remarks by Mayor Foreman, the Revival will feature remarks and prayers from community and church leaders; choir and dance ministry performances; a “prayer booth” manned by the Prayer Team; free food; health screenings and prizes.  Free school supplies will be given away to all youth, grades K through 12.  Children must be present to receive school supplies, and all supplies will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
