Need to use a computer? Free Wi-Fi? Want to just browse books or play a quick game of chess? Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) continues to enhance its buildings to create functional, inviting spaces for the greater Prince William community. In November 2020 and coming in early 2021, two libraries – Central Library and Manassas City Library – will see even more enhancements and changes.

Central Library has recently undergone extensive renovations and reopened its doors to the public in November 2020. Central Library’s renovation represents a commitment to bringing quality library services and welcoming space to Prince William’s diverse community. Walls have been broken down and the interior has been completely redesigned to offer more open space for programming and general enjoyment.

In addition to physical changes to Central Library, the renovation is allowing for enhanced services and programming. After more than 25 years, RELIC, focusing on local history and genealogy, has been moved back to Central Library from Bull Run Library and Central will house PWPL’s first Makerspace Lab, Studio 8601.

Coming early 2021: Manassas City Library at Wellington Station Shopping Center! Manassas City Library will be the twelfth PWPL branch. The new library will provide resources and programming for all ages. Featuring an open floorplan, Manassas City Library will offer inviting spaces to enjoy an expansive collection of books and resources, meeting room space, comfortable seating, public computers, and free Wi-Fi access.

Both libraries – and PWPL as a whole – are committed to enhancing the patron’s experience at the library, while also offering a virtual experience 24/7 through its Digital Library.
