Name: Suzanne Lewis

Title: Director of Community Outreach

Preferred Method of Communication (What’s the BEST way to reach you? Text….Email…Pony Express…): I’ll answer to anything! But if I need to pick one, it would be email {[email protected]}

How long have you been with the Chamber? 10 years this July.

What drew you to work at the Chamber? The mission. Being a part of an organization that is an influence in the community where I live. After having worked for a consulting firm I can now help others achieve their business goals – what could be more rewarding? I have continued my work with the Chamber since I’m always meeting interesting people and I learn something new almost every day.

What is the thing you love most about your job? The diversity of the industries I serve. Each one has their own unique issues and challenges that with the guidance and support of our members we design and implement an annual program of work that best meets their needs.

What are some of your interests and hobbies? Wine, and now learning about what’s brewing in the brewery industry! Owner of a Penn Yan and spending summers at Lake Sebago, Maine. Hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail, snow skiing, horses, and spending time in a cabin overlooking the mountains. Traveling…just about anywhere! Favorite Author: Bill Bryson; Favorite Band: Dream Theater. I like my TV: Sunday Talk Politics, Nature Shows, Alaska TV Series, Outlander, Billions and The Science Channel.

If you owned a business, what kind of business would it be? I do own a business that takes up my evenings. With an 11-year career working for universities in the field of undergraduate college admissions, I use that expertise and inside-track knowledge to assist students and their families navigate the college search and application process.

What is one thing you wish you could tell every member? The Chamber is designed so there is something for everyone…no matter the type or size of your business or even your personal working style. Get involved! You’ll not only make key connections in the place where you do business but in you’ll become more connected in your own community.
