Students who are scanning course catalogs for subjects they want or need, or are balancing school requirements with specialty programs and electives, should check into the PWCS Virtual High School, where they can take full-credit courses online in a semester-length session.

The Virtual High School program delivers courses aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and is ideal for students who want to work ahead, recover credit, fulfill electives, or find they are one course short to meet graduation requirements. Students work with highly qualified PWCS online instructors.

Online registration for the spring 2018 session will run from Jan. 4 to Jan. 30. For the spring session schedule, visit the PWCS Virtual High School website.

The program offers courses in foreign language, health and physical education, language arts, math, science, and social studies during the spring session, which runs from Jan. 31 to May 30. For more information, contact Gina Jones at jonesgk@pwcs.edu or 571.264.9119.

Online learning offers many advantages, including schedule flexibility, low teacher-student ratio, and an alternative to traditional classroom instruction. Students are encouraged to review the criteria to help them decide if the Virtual High School @ PWCS is for them. Visit virtualhs.pwcs.edu and click on “About VHS/Student Criteria.”
