Tang’s Alterations, Bridal, Bespoke Expands Alteration Shop in Manassas

Tang’s Bridal – one the DMV’s top bridal boutiques and alteration shops – is expanding in the City of Manassas. Tang’s has leased an additional 2,000 square feet adjacent to their location in the Canterbury Village shopping center on Sudley Road. Their expanded footprint will house a larger alteration shop, new private fitting room, and showcase areas. In addition to their larger footprint, Tang’s will be growing their team by bringing on two new employees.

Since opening in Manassas in 1999, Tang’s has earned a glowing reputation for exceptional bridal services and quality alterations. That reputation, alongside careful planning from owners Xiao-Yin (Tang) Byrom and Kenny Loveless, has helped draw in clients from across the DC metro area and enabled the business to expand three times now in the City.

“We’ve been a part of this amazing business community for over 20 years,” say owners Byrom and Loveless. “Our excellent staff and our loyal customers have enabled us to grow. Tang’s has grown substantially along with the City and we’re very thankful for the partnerships with the City and resources that have helped along the way.”

Visitor Spending in Manassas Up 14.5% from Pre-Pandemic Levels

Recently released data from the Virginia Tourism Corporation on the economic impact of visitors in Virginia reports a major increase in visitor spending in the City of Manassas. During 2021, visitor spending in the City reached $54 million, a 14.5% increase from pre-pandemic levels and up 36% year-over-year.

Tourism is a major contributor to the Manassas economy, supporting over 460 jobs with an annual payroll of $13.6 million while generating more than $2.4 million in local taxes in 2021. Promoting a strong tourism economy is a key area of focus for the City, which recently led a number of strategic initiatives to enhance outdoor dining, achieve new legislation that allows open containers during events in Downtown Manassas, and launch a local gift card program to encourage local spending.

Increased tourism activity is making an impact on the City as popular events, entertainment, and dining establishments drive visitors and locals alike to Historic Downtown and other commercial areas, spurring continued revitalization, small business investment, and private job growth.
