Inspired by the “Desks by Dad” initiative started by a parent in Maryland, Featherstone Elementary School teachers and husband/wife team Sarah and Christopher Eckenrode are custom-building desks for students to use at home in the virtual learning setting.

The duo reached out to the Maryland family, asked if they would be willing to share a desk pattern, and “Project Study Station” for Featherstone Elementary students was born.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Walts stopped by the school to show support for the Eckenrodes’ efforts and join in on the desk building himself. Watch Video

The Eckenrodes are working to fulfill the needs of their Featherstone families, and if funds are available, they hope to help other school communities as well. Donate to Project Study Station.
