The Hylton Performing Arts Center presents an evening of festivities for its 13th Anniversary Gala on April 28. The one-day celebration includes an elegant cocktail reception in the Didlake Grand Foyer, special dinner on the Merchant Hall stage, an honoree tribute, Raise Your Paddle fundraiser, and a live auction featuring a chance to win The Green Machine Experience packageThe evening will conclude with performances by the Green Machine’s own Green and Gold Soul, as well as a special performance by jazz vocalist Darden Purcell. The Hylton Center’s 13th Anniversary Gala festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28.The 13th Anniversary Gala will honor Carlos Castro and the Jacquemin Family Foundation, as well as benefit the Hylton Center’s artistic performancesEducation Initiatives, the Veterans and the Arts Initiative, and the Hylton’s endowment, ensuring artistic excellence in the performances and programs offered by the Hylton Center.The Green Machine Experience includes a dinner with director Doc Nix, four seats with the Green Machine during a Mason Men’s Basketball Game in the 2023–2024 Season, a chance to attend another special event with the Green Machine, and Green Machine spirit gear prize pack.

About the Honoree

Honoree Carlos Castro is the President, CEO, and Founder of Todos Supermarkets, which specializes in food and services for Latin American, Caribbean, and African communities. After opening his first store in 1990, Mr. Castro recently expanded his business to multiple stores in Prince William County, employing hundreds of residents and serving thousands of customers. He is a winner of Prince William Chamber’s 2017 Charles J. Colgan Jr. Visionary Award, as well as the Prince William Chamber’s 2023 Community Outreach Award for Todos Supermarkets.

The Jacquemin Family Foundation

The Jacquemin Family Foundation, led by John and Tracie Jacquemin, has supported charitable causes across Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington region since its establishment in 1997. In 2022, the Hylton Performing Arts Center named its large rehearsal hall in the Education and Rehearsal Wing in honor of the Jacquemin Family Foundation, signaling their transformational support for the Center’s artistic work and endowment. In addition to their longtime relationship with the Hylton Performing Arts Center, the Jacquemin Family Foundation provides essential support for George Mason University students, including an Education Abroad scholarship and a doctoral research fellowship for the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation.

Individual Gala tickets are available for $300 per person.
