Community members attended a Town Hall on August 19 to learn and make comments about plans for a new pier at the Potomac Science Center.  The new dock facility will help researchers reach navigable waters within the Occoquan River with space to moor a 40-foot research vessel and several smaller vessels. The project is in the design phase with construction to be completed by the end of 2027.

The future Don Kelso Learning Pier honors the pioneering aquatic ecologist who was a leader in environmental science at George Mason for 35 years.
