Three Students Recognized for Bus Safety Artwork

The Virginia Association for Public Transportation (VAPT) has announced the winners of its annual School Bus Safety Poster Contest. Three of the students were from Bristow Run Elementary School. The theme for this year’s poster contest was “Red Lights Mean STOP!”

Wyatt Thomon and Jason Patterson won second and third place in the K-second grade category, respectively. Vanvi Nguyen won third place in the third-fifth grade category. Second place winners receive $75 and a red ribbon and third place winners receive $50 and a white ribbon.

VAPT is an organization dedicated to promoting safety, professionalism, and excellence within the pupil transportation industry. Membership is composed of school transportation personnel from both the public and private sectors from all districts in the state, personnel from the state Pupil Transportation Service, and members of the school bus industry.
