‘Peter Pan’ Soars — Tiny Dancers Spring Recital a Smash Hit
Alexandria, VA — On June 1st, before a crowded auditorium at Hayfield Secondary School, young dancers from Tiny Dancers, along with teachers in the roles of Wendy, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Captain Hook and the ‘Lost Boys’, wowed the audience of family and friends with a specially adapted version of ‘Peter Pan’. The show started off with a Daddy/Daughter dance that brought smiles (and more than a few misty eyes) to the audience as 2 year-old ballerinas and their dads shared a first dance to the Rod Stewart hit, ‘Forever Young’. Then the story of ‘Peter Pan’ was told through ballet, tap and jazz numbers, choreographed to songs including ‘I Won’t Grow Up’, ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ and ‘Following the Leader’. The stage was decorated with a clubhouse and the bow of Captain Hook’s pirate ship. The young performers beamed with excitement — some so much that they couldn’t resist a wave to mom and dad in the audience — as they tapped, twirled and chasséd through ‘Neverland’.
