The Town of Dumfries is hosting a Black History Celebration, themed “African Americans and the Arts,” on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Little Union Baptist Church, 17150 Batesvown Road, Dumfries.

The Town of Dumfries is the oldest continuously charted Town in Virginia and has made history with its first all African American Town Council in Virginia. In addition, the Town has its first African American female Vice Mayor and its first African American female Town Manager.

This celebration will include some of Prince William County’s top executives including the Town of Dumfries Town Council, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (virtual), PWC Supervisor Andrea Bailey, PWC Board Chair Deshundra Jefferson and Keynote Speaker Kim B Miller. Performances and art presentations highlighting the profound impact of African Americans and the Arts will be featured.
