The National Museum of the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation announce that the Veterans and Athletes United’s Global War on Terror Memorial Flag will be on display on the entry plaza of the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The 28 by 6 foot flag symbolizes the shape of the flag when draped on a fallen service member’s casket. The flag consists of approximately 7,000 dog tags of those who fell during the Global War on Terror and 50 gold stars honoring Gold Star families from across the county.

The flag is a living memorial and new tags are added when more of our service members give their lives.  It will be on display Nov. 4 to 10, 2021, and was previously on display at the Museum in 2019,

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is located at 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Triangle.
