Vehicular Arson – Sudley Road Investigation & Arrests

On Saturday, November 4th, at approximately 9:07 p. m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 7700 block of Sudley Road in Manassas. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. An investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office concluded two suspects allegedly ignited and burned an American flag attached to the bed of a Toyota Tundra pickup. The fire spread to the vehicle causing damage estimated at $500. Warrants were obtained for their arrest.

Arrested on November 7th: Bhavani Moddipoti from Chantilly and Robert McFadden from Manassas. Both were charged with 18.2-81 Destruction of property by fire greater than $200.00, and 18.2- 488 Mutilate/deface of a flag. They were held on a $10,000.00 bond.
