Junior and senior students at Osbourn High School will take a field trip to Virginia Tire & Auto’s new training facility in Tysons where they will meet and talk with Virginia Tire & Auto employees. The students will have an opportunity to see hands-on demonstrations while also hearing about career opportunities in automotive repair.

VTA Co-CEO Julie Holmes will also be on site to talk about the opportunities she sees in the automotive industry, especially for women. She will also speak on her career transition from attorney to running an automotive repair company.

Virginia Tire & Auto, one of the DMV’s largest automotive repair and tire companies, has been on a crusade to get more employees into the automotive field, particularly women. Co-CEO Julie Holmes speaks regularly with high school students on the advantages of working in the automotive industry. The company recently announced a scholarship for women interested in entering the industry.
