Virginia Women and Family Support Center has received a $25,000 investment from Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, to help expand housing, maternal health education, and wraparound support for pregnant women and young families experiencing homelessness.
This is more than a grant. It is a recognition of something VAWFSC sees every day: stable housing can change the trajectory of an entire family.
At VAWFSC, women are provided with up to 24 months of stable housing while they work toward long-term independence. Along the way, mothers have access to prenatal and postpartum care coordination, mental health counseling, parenting education, financial literacy, workforce development, childcare support, and other resources designed to help families build a stronger future.
And the need is growing.
In 2025 alone, VAWFSC served more than 1,200 women, children, and families through their housing, maternal health, and community support programs. More women are reaching out for help, and VAWFSC is committed to making sure they have somewhere to turn.
Google’s support will help them to continue meeting that need.

This support allows us to continue providing the stable housing and comprehensive care that help mothers heal, grow, and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.
