Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 5, for Literacy Volunteers of America Food for Thought – A Taste of Prince William fun family event. It’s at the VFW Post #1503 on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge from 6:30-8:30 p. m. Tickets are $30 and kids 10 and under are free. Thirty local restaurants will be there along with door prizes, raffle items and a trivia contest. You can purchase tickets at their office or online at lvapw.org. This is a super fun way to support adult literacy in our community.
The General Heiser Boys & Girls Club in Dumfries is looking for volunteer coaches for various skill levels in the girls volleyball program age 8-13 and the co-ed basketball program for ages 5-15. Typically practice is one to two hours per week and two games per week. The basketball season starts June 11-12, and the volleyball season begins June 18. Come share your love of the game!
