Keep Prince William Beautiful is excited to announce a FOUR-DAY conservation event at Carters Mill Living Community (15875 Rose Ellene Lane, Haymarket) and they’d love your help! From Monday, April 20 to Thursday, April 23, they will be working to remove invasive plant species and plant native trees to beautify the community — and need volunteers to make it happen! No prior experience is necessary; just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty!
What you’ll be doing:
Invasive plant removal: pulling, cutting, and clearing non-native species that crowd out native plants and wildlife habitat
Native tree planting: preparing planting sites, digging, and putting in native Oak Leaf Hydrangeas, Virginia Pine, Eastern White Pine, and American Holly to beautify and diversify the community’s plant ecosystem.
Daily Schedule:
Each day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., split into a morning and afternoon shift. Morning shifts run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and afternoon shifts run from 1 to 4 p.m. Below are the dates for this project:

Feel free to sign up for just one shift, a few, or all of them! Every bit of help counts!
What to bring:
Sturdy closed-toed shoes
Long pants
Long socks
Long sleeved shirt
Hat
Sunglasses
Water bottle
Sunscreen & bug spray
Gloves will be provided, but if you have your own work gloves, please bring them!
All other tools and supplies will be provided onsite.
