VRE has launched an entirely new and redesigned website at www.vre.org.

In planning the new website, VRE reviewed the most requested information from riders to provide and create an intuitive, user-friendly experience that works across varying devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) with a responsive design and a mobile-first strategy with auto-detection capabilities for smartphones, tablets and geo-location services. On the new website, “Rail Time” is now Train Status” and “Daily Download” is “Daily Performance,” so new riders can easily find key items on the site.

VRE believes the new website will provide easy and efficient access to the most requested service information and create effective, compelling communications for breaking news, real-time alerts and important information that affects your commute.  The site’s navigation has been simplified through new visual elements and maps and so it is compatible with major browsers with a load time of less than two seconds.  It is designed to integrate with social media and is accessible for people with physical, sensory or cognitive disabilities.

It has a multi-language translator powered by Google Translate, and in the near future, will integrate a trip planner powered by Google Transit.  Google Custom Search is used for the search results.

If you have comments or suggestions for the new site, please email newwebsite@vre.org.
