On Aug. 31, 2026, local, state, and federal partners met at Washington Manassas Regional Airport as it received its Airport Operating Certificate from the FAA, an important milestone in the airport’s transition to commercial service.
This makes Washington Manassas the 10th commercial service airport in Virginia and the first in the Commonwealth to receive a new Airport Operating Certificate in more than 60 years.
