For 32 years, Whitlock Wealth has grown alongside the Greater Prince William community it calls home. Founded in 1994, the practice has evolved from a founder-led business into a broader wealth management firm serving individuals, families, and business owners. Through that growth, Bennett and Gayle Whitlock say one thing has remained constant: a commitment to long-term relationships, community involvement, and helping clients navigate important financial decisions through every stage of life.
“Prince William and Manassas are more than the communities where we do business. They are home,” Bennett Whitlock said.
Growing with Clients Across Generations
Whitlock said one of the most meaningful changes over the firm’s 32 years has been the expansion of both its team and the scope of its work.
“One of the most meaningful milestones has been growing from a founder-led practice into a broader wealth management firm supported by a talented team,” he said.

Over time, the practice expanded beyond investment management to help clients address retirement, estate planning, tax considerations, risk management, and other financial decisions. Another milestone has been the development of relationships that now extend across generations.
“We are proud to work not only with long-term clients, but also with their children, grandchildren, businesses, and community organizations,” Whitlock said. “That continuity reflects the trust our clients have placed in us and the long-term approach we have taken since 1994.”
A Business Shaped by Community
For Bennett and Gayle Whitlock, community involvement has been part of the business from the beginning. “Gayle and I have always believed that a successful business has a responsibility to contribute its time, leadership, and resources to the community that supports it,” Whitlock said.
The firm has been involved with local business, nonprofit, civic, and leadership organizations throughout Prince William County and the City of Manassas. Whitlock said those connections have influenced the culture of the company as well as the relationships it has built.
“We want our team to lead with service, remain connected, and look for meaningful ways to make a positive local impact,” he said.
That local commitment has also been recognized by the broader business community. Earlier this year, Whitlock Wealth was named the Prince William Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Chamber Member of the Year.

Recognized by Forbes in 2026
Whitlock Wealth was also named to the 2026 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams list.
Forbes states that the ranking is developed with SHOOK Research using qualitative and quantitative criteria. Whitlock Wealth’s recognition is also listed on its Ameriprise Financial team profile.
The recognition adds another milestone to a year focused on both the firm’s history and its future.
Looking Toward Year 33
As Whitlock Wealth begins its 33rd year, Bennett Whitlock said his focus is on the people around the firm and what comes next.
“I am most excited about the people around us and the future we are building together,” he said. “We have a strong team, loyal clients, and opportunities to serve families and business owners in increasingly comprehensive ways.”
He said priorities for the coming year include continuing to strengthen the client experience, developing the next generation of leaders within Whitlock Wealth, and investing in the community.
“We are proud of our history, but we are equally energized by what comes next,” Whitlock said.
