Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) issued the following statement after being re-assigned to the House Natural Resources Committee and the Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittee:

“I want to thank Leadership for allowing me to continue to serve my constituents in Virginia’s First District and the American people on the House Natural Resources Committee. I also have the honor of serving again on the Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittee which is crucial to defending our natural resources.

“Due in large part to the abundance of natural resources in Virginia’s First District, I am proud to be in a position to help protect and manage America’s natural resource assets. This past October, I had the distinct honor of managing the suspension debate for the America’s Conservation Enhancement Act (ACE Act), arguably the most important piece of environmental legislation regarding the Chesapeake Bay, national wetlands, and fish habitats proposed within the last two decades. I look forward to continuing to advocate for crucial legislation for our environment in the 117th Congress.

“The Chesapeake Bay will always remain one of my top priorities when working in this committee. As I have from the beginning, I will continue to champion measures that ensure the safety of the environmental health for the Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding watershed area. I am very pleased to be working again with my colleagues on the House Natural Resources Committee to achieve real solutions for our environment not only for Virginians, but for all Americans. As always, I will keep my constituents updated as we move forward into this new congress and tackle new challenges together.”

Representative Wittman has served on the House Natural Resources Committee since coming to Congress.

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he serves as the Vice Ranking Member of the full Committee and Ranking Member of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
