Last Tuesday, Congressman Wittman met with members of the Prince William Chamber, where they focused primarily on issues like workforce development, the effects of tax reform on small businesses, and the impact of defense spending in the region.
“Virginia’s role in our nation’s defense is critical,” Wittman said. “Accordingly, defense spending accounts for 20% of all economic production across the Commonwealth. Virginia has 884,000 defense-supported jobs, with a large portion of that concentrated in Northern Virginia in areas such as Prince William County. I look forward to working with the PWC Chamber to support our military and those that work to ensure they have the resources they need to be successful.”
Wittman also met with the New Kent and Williamsburg Chambers to discuss the issues important to businesses in the First Congressional District. “We had extremely productive conversations,” Rep. Wittman said. “The Prince William Chamber, the New Kent Chamber, and the Williamsburg Chamber are all laser focused on the issues that are matter to those in the community.”
Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
