Your Voice.  Your Community.  Our Future.

Be Heard on December 4

City of Manassas, Virginia . . . The City of Manassas and Manassas City Public Schools are gathering information to go into the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and need the public’s help.  On Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Mayfield Intermediate School, residents will be asked to give input on future building projects for the City and Schools.

“We are encouraged by the wonderful participation at the first meeting in October and are looking forward to the feedback we get at this second community meeting,” said City Manager John A. Budesky.  “This is our community and residents should have a say in its future.”

At this second community meeting, participants will hear a short recap of the first meeting held on Oct. 16 and then be asked to help prioritize future facility wants and needs for the City of Manassas and Manassas City Public Schools.  City and School staff have gathered all of the input regarding CIP projects from thefirst community meeting, from the website survey and from staff, and are eager to hear from residents at this second community meeting.

“Citizen engagement is invaluable to the CIP process,” said Superintendent Dr. Catherine Magouyrk.  “I look forward to hearing from residents at this meeting and hearing what priorities they have for our community.”

This is a one-of-a-kind effort in the Northern Virginia area.  The City of Manassas and Manassas City Public Schools will use the information gathered at these meetings, along with recommendations from staff, to create the City of Manassas Capital Improvement Plans.
