Youth Orchestras of Prince William’s Music Director and Youth Symphony Orchestra Conductor, Mrs. Anne Rupert, together with her staff of conductors, open the 35th anniversary season Festive on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 p. m. with a performance called “Festive Fall.”

Youth Orchestras of Prince William is celebrating 35 years of music excellence in the Prince William region, and it is doing so on a Festive note. The season opens with a pre-performance reception on Nov 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gallery of the Hylton Performing Arts Center, a historic photo gallery and video that recaptures the story of generations of youth musicians that emerged from YOPW.

The centerpiece of the Festive Fall Concert is The Youth Symphony Orchestra lead by Conductor Rupert presenting Mascagni’s Intermezzo from “Cavalleria Rusticana”, and Bartok’s Rumanian Folks Dances. These pieces are presented in collaboration with Dance Etcetera lead by choreographer and Director, Ann Boyle. Youth Symphony Orchestra’s performance also includes Beethoven’s The Creatures of Pometheus Overture, Op. 43, Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri Overture, and Poulenc’s Sinfonietta.

The Hylton Performing Arts Center will resonate with all the talent and energy of over 200 youth performing in five orchestras and two choruses. Festive Fall presents the talent of all student musicians starting from the youngest ensemble, Primo Orchestra lead by Conductor Andrew Lisowski, Repertory Orchestra lead by Conductor Phaedra Long, Wind Symphony lead by Conductor Erika Batalla, Concert Orchestra lead by Conductor Gerald Fowkes and finally, Youth Chorus lead by Conductor Christen Reddig.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $12 for seniors and active/retired military. Youth 18 and under receive free tickets. For ticket sales visit hyltoncenter.org.
